London Recorder Day 2015
A fun day of recorder playing at James Allen's Girls' School, aimed at players aged 8 to 21 of Grade 3 standard and above. Auditions for the Summer Course will be held at this event.
Our tutors for the day are Colin Touchin and Joris van Goethem.
The day begins at 10 a.m. with a warm-up session and ends with a short informal concert for families and friends from 3.30-4.00 p.m., featuring some of the pieces studied during the day.
The day is aimed at recorder players aged 8 to 21, with a playing standard from Grade 3 up to Diploma, and recorder teachers. Players who have not reached this standard or are not ready for a full day's playing can attend the afternoon session for £10.
There will be massed playing sessions, group work (according to playing standard) and tips on technique.
Come and be inspired, make new friends (or meet up with old friends) and have fun!
Cost: £25 for the full day (£10 for the afternoon only).
Teachers who bring 5 or more pupils can come for free!
Those coming for the whole day should bring a packed lunch.
Please bring a music stand with your name on it, plus all your recorders.
Those coming for the afternoon session only should aim to arrive at 1.30 p.m. and bring the £10 payment for the session.
Squash and biscuits will be supplied at all break times.
If you are auditioning for the Summer Course, a separate e-mail will be sent detailing the proposed times and audition requirements.
